Cangjie typing trainer
A character appears; type its Cangjie code. Wrong answers show the radicals, and characters you miss come back more often until you know them.

How to use
- Choose a practice set: the 24 radicals, the most common 100–3000 characters, or a Hong Kong primary grade list.
- Type the code for the character shown. No need to press Space: a correct code moves on automatically.
- After a mistake the radical keys are revealed. Press Hint to see the letters, or Skip.
- Missed characters are repeated more often. Keep going until your accuracy stays above 90%.
A practice routine that works
Start with the 24 radical keys until you can press each without looking. Next, drill the most common 100 characters, which cover a large share of everyday text. Then widen the set. Ten minutes a day beats an hour once a week, because decomposition is a pattern-recognition skill.
Turn on “show radicals” while learning. The trainer shows the radical names without the letters so you practise the mapping in your head.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to learn Cangjie?
Most learners can type slowly after one to two weeks of daily practice and reach a comfortable speed in two to three months. Knowing the radicals and the decomposition rules is what speeds this up.
